Eight New Arrivals Will Participate in the Second Cohort of the Business Immigrant Mentorship Program (BIMP)

March 30th, 2012

Bathurst, N.B.: – The Business Immigrant Mentorship Program (BIMP), a provincial initiative funded by the Province of New Brunswick and managed by the Greater Bathurst Chamber of Commerce, officially launched its second on Thursday, March 29, 2022 in Bathurst. Eight business-oriented new arrivals have eagerly signed up to take part in the second round of the program.

The Business Immigrant Mentorship Program is designed to match immigrants (mentees) who have an interest in opening a business with members of the Greater Bathurst Chamber of Commerce (mentors) on a six month journey of training, networking, one-on-one consultation and integration in the region’s business community. Launched in the region in October 2011, twelve participants (six mentees and six mentors) took part in the first cohort.

Through this program, immigrant entrepreneurs will be able to expand their knowledge in such areas as doing business in New Brunswick, preparing a business plan, following business practices in Canada and obtaining other relevant information that will help them to carry out their business projects.

“The Greater Bathurst Chamber of Commerce is pleased to offer the Business Immigrant Mentorship Program. We are pleased to inform you that we are expanding the program and reaching out to our neighbours to offer this program to business-oriented newcomers in Northern New Brunswick.”

This program, funded by the government of New Brunswick through the Department of Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labour, is offered by the Greater Bathurst Chamber of Commerce in partnership with steering committee members, Enterprise Chaleur, the Multicultural Association Chaleur Region and CBDC Chaleur.

The Greater Bathurst Chamber of Commerce represents the voice of the business community and serves as an advocate for its members.
