  • Premier Gallant Bilingualism speech Premier Gallant Bilingualism speech

    Dear Mr. Poirier,

Last week, in his address to the Greater Saint John Chamber of Commerce and La Chambre de commerce et du tourisme du grand Caraquet, Premier Brian Gallant stated that having two official languages is a positive contributor to New Brunswick’s economy and social fabric. With this statement in mind, Dialogue NB stands tall with the Premier as with all social leaders who promote collective efforts to foster harmonious relationships between English-speaking and French-speaking New Brunswickers.

Dialogue NB has – and continues to – contribute to strengthening our province’s social cohesion. Our organization does this by promoting and celebrating understanding, appreciation, and respect between English-speaking and French-speaking New Brunswickers. The success of our province is inextricably linked with the willingness of all members of society to cooperate with each other. We agree that it’s time to focus our efforts and act collectively – allowing this province to reach its full potential.

Dialogue NB echoes the Premier’s call to action and asks you to get engaged in these efforts by embracing both of our official languages and spreading positivity; resulting in an enhanced quality of life for all.  In an effort to further promote linguistic and cultural harmony, we are attaching the Premier’s speech. A video of the address can be viewed here. We invite you to share the speech and video with your membership and those in your network.  To view the Premiers documented speech, click here.

In closing, we thank you for believing in and for supporting dialogue.

    Kind regards,

    Mirelle Cyr          Patrick O’Brien
